Memory Match Game
Objective
Match each shape card with its matching colour card (e.g. yellow circle & yellow colour card)
How to Play
1. Shuffle all the cards and lay them face down in a grid
2. Players take turns flipping over two cards at a time
3. If the cards match in colour (e.g. a blue triangle & blue colour card), the player keeps the pair and takes another turn
4. If they don’t match, flip them back over and the next player has a turn
5. The game ends when all matching pairs are found
6. The player with the most pairs wins
Solo Play
Try to match all pairs in the fewest possible turns or beat your best time
Tip: For younger players, start with just 3–5 pairs (6–10 cards) to keep it short and fun. As your child builds confidence and memory skills, gradually add more cards into the mix.
Go Fish Game
Objective
Collect the most colour pairs, one shape card & one matching colour card (e.g. yellow circle & yellow colour card)
How to Play
1. Shuffle the cards and deal 5 cards to each player (4 cards if playing with 4+ people). Place the rest face down in a “pond.”
2. Take turns asking another player for a specific colour you’re trying to match.
Example: “Do you have blue?” (because you have either the blue triangle card or the blue colour card).
3. If they have the matching card, they hand it over and you keep the pair. Then take another turn.
4. If they don’t have it, they say “Go Fish” and you draw a card from the pond. If it makes a pair, place it down and take another turn. If not, your turn ends.
5. Keep playing until all cards are paired or the pond is empty
6. The player with the most colour pairs at the end of the game is the winner
Tip: For younger players, start with just 4–6 colour pairs (8–12 cards). Play cooperatively and focus on naming the colours and shapes together for a gentle introduction to taking turns and making matches.
